Brandon Barnett

As a leader in the strategy office of Intel’s CTO, Brandon advises executive management on strategies to maximize Intel’s growth and transformation, harnessing the explosion of data and AI. As a strategist, he specializes in identifying opportunities from technology inflections that lead to market dynamics. As a physicist, his unique expertise is in employing complex systems science and ecosystem analytics to optimize a company’s position within these dynamics.

His scope spans portfolio management, business unit strategy, M&A, market insights, and university R&D. He leads R&D programs to advance the use of AI & analytics in strategy development, piloting new tools and methods including the development of the company’s corporate-wide strategy development process. He is also a leader in communicating Intel’s strategy to 100,000+ employees and raising the strategic acumen of the corporation by leading courses, speaking at events, and coaching.

Previously, Brandon held General Manager roles in Intel’s new business incubator and scientist roles in Intel’s next-generation microprocessor technology group. As General Manager of Intel’s Biochip venture, he led a team to develop the world’s first bio-silicon DNA synthesis and detection platform.

Brandon holds an MBA from the Oregon Executive MBA program, a PhD in Applied Physics from the University of Michigan, and a Sc.B. in engineering from Brown University. He holds nineteen patents and has co-authored twelve publications.
